The Ministry of Education (MoE) of Ethiopia has published a new Grade 9 Economics Education Textbook. The textbook was written by Hussien Mohammed Oumer (M.Sc.) and Tadesse Ababu Abebe (M.Sc.), and edited by Mesfin Ketema (M.Sc.), Enguday Ademe Mekonnen (Ph.D.), Birhanu Engidaw Getahun (Ph.D.), Endalkachew Mengesha Yasab (M.Sc.), and Derejaw Lake Melie (M.Sc.).

The textbook is divided into two parts, with eight units in total. The first part introduces students to the basic concepts of economics, such as scarcity, choice, opportunity cost, and economic systems.
